How to take advantage of RTWNJ in 2016 – Part One

Let’s start the New Year off by heading in a new direction. How about following a process that has been proven to work? As we’ve mentioned numerous times in this newsletter, you need to have a map and a compass to get from unemployed to hired.

Many of our candidates uploaded their resumes as well as other required documents and have done nothing else with the system. They haven’t filled out the skills section with their special talents, certifications or competencies. Our daily email job postings come from SimplyHired and are matched against what terms you put into this area. If you’re not receiving good postings, you need to look at what you’ve put in this section.

Another reason to make sure you have a robust skills section is that our program coordinators receive requests from employers for open positions. They then search our database for RTWNJ candidates who possess the skills the employer requires. For example, an employer is seeking individuals with Great Plains software experience. We searched our database of over 3,000 candidates specifically for those individuals with this knowledge. Only 4 candidates were discovered. If you have Great Plains proficiency but don’t have it listed, you would miss out on this opportunity. (If qualified, see this week’s hot jobs)

Please take a few moments and improve your probability of being hired by reviewing and improving your candidate skills section. Log into our system here.

HOT JOBS!

In order to apply, you will need to complete the form and upload your cover letter & resume. If you have any questions, the program coordinator’s email is listed in the form. In order to be eligible for these positions, you must be qualified & enrolled in the Ready to Work NJ Program.
